NIKON D50 | Focal Length 18 mm | Exposure f 10, 1/640 sec
Notes
A skier speeds down the snowy slopes of 'Nordkette' range of mountains, surrounding the town of Innsbruck in western Austria. A part of the Innsbruck town can be seen down below while an infinite range of mountains extend the horizon.
A very common adjustment while photographing in the snow is to overexpose by around 0.67 to 1.0 f-stop because the camera is programmed to meter for shades of grey and white snow fools it into underexposing the image. Or just set the mode on your camera to 'Snow' if it is available and the camera does the same thing. This is why it is important to use the right mode on your camera and not just let it be on the 'Auto' setting eternally.
