So what is this all about?

This is my "photoblog" or "photographic web log". I have and will continue to post the images that I think have turned out well, and more importantly, try throwing in a tip or two on photography relevant to that image.

Info

I believe that you need not have a top of the range camera or lenses to produce great images. Excellent images can be produced with the most basic or even with cellphone cameras! Good lighting (and shadows) is the the single most important ingredient in a great photograph. I will try to highlight whenever there's a nice photograph taken with a basic camera in my Photoblog.

The second thing I believe in is that you don't need an extraordinary scenery or places to create great images. The skill lies in creating extraordinary images from ordinary scenes and objects you come across daily, and I am trying to do exactly that.

All images need a little bit of processing to make them 'pop' unless they are already heavily processed by the camera itself. This does not mean changing the image significantly from it's original form but could be a simple contrast adjustment or some cropping and this could change an image from a dull picture to an interesting one.

On the other hand, the way digital cameras capture an image and the way human eyes see it differ significantly. This is the reason we are many times disappointed after we excitedly take a photograph and then see how different it looked from the actual scene. Post processing is necessary here too to bring the image closer to how you interpreted it. Or you can go further and use post processing to make the image like you 'imagined' it to be. This is where it starts to cross the line between image processing and image manipulation.

Anyway, if you don't care, just enjoy the images on this site and I will love it if you post a comment or two!
